Roger Ek thinks the Moderate 8 shouldn’t be asking their Gov’nah to think before he speaks.
These turncoats rode Paul LePage’s coattails to a senate majority and members of this bunch not turned out by term limits should have principled ethical opponents in the primaries next year.
Wha…? Coattails!
Getting 38% means you *don’t* have coattails. LePage probably rode THEIR coattails to squeek into office. He should be thanking them- they are the only hope he has of ever getting elected again, or even doing 1/3rd of what he wants to do.
Self-delusion knows no bounds.
The gimme-gimme crowd was just as upset with Jim Longley. Turns out that at the end of Longley’s term, the REAL people were so happy to have a governor that represented THEIR interests, that by ALL measures, the Blaine House would have been his for the taking. So much for the opinions of the gimme-gimme girls, the disgruntled government employee goldbricks, and all the other societal parasites.
Where do I apply to become a “REAL” person?
Ask Roger Ek because that guy canNOT be real!
What a fruitcake! He is responsible for all the good. He is witness to all important events. And his constant personification of “the grassroots” indicates mental illness.
Am I the only one who finds it weird that all are chiming in on an OpEd piece that has not yet been published? Or that Paul LePage put out a statement that he agrees with what is in the nebulous OpEd piece but those who worship at his altar refused to be anything but offended?
What a cartoon that place is!
Roger Ek is borderline mentally ill, a great example of what happens when the kind of people who are apt to believe in alien abductions instead get sucked into politics. I do love his style of telling stories, though. Everything is a great epiphany, regardless of how many times or how recently he has told the story before.
I’m not surprised they were talking about the Republican 8′s letter- there were copies circulating since Friday. Being thoughtful politicians they actually gave the Governor and other Republicans a copy so they could prepare.
Roger Ek, who has been called out by his “peers” before for making stuff up, is now claiming that there is a cabel of Republicans plotting to defeat LePage’s budget. I wish it were so, but when asked to substantiate the claim, the Ekster is strangely silent.
This is the same guy who calls anyone who votes for a conservative cause a “patriot.” The implication clearly being that anyone who opposes these measures must be a “traitor.” How disgustingly insulting. But par for their course.
To be fair, Joe, in your case he is right. We all saw you in General Cornwallis’ camp sometime around 1780. Admit it.
Why does General Ek, Originator of All That Is Important not have a bio here? He has definitely earned one doncha think?
The grassroots are wondering.
You know, that is a good question. I started one but I think I was discouraged because I remembered a lot of stuff I could no longer find on AMG. I’ll put that back on the priority list. It is hard to get anything done though, as a blogger, when the Governor says a dumb thing about once every 5 hours.
@ Average Joe: Regarding the budget, Republicans oddly decided to go the route that requires a 2/3rds majority vote. I do not see how LePage could possibly veto a budget passed in this manner, but that hasn’t stopped him from threatening it! Toothless veto threats are just the sort of strategy we’ve come to expect from LePage, however, and give Democrats everywhere hope that this Governor is actually so inept he will be unable to bring his desires into policy reality.
That Longley analysis at the top is quite odd. I’m too young to remember his term, but of the people I’ve spoken to about it – trying to get some context for LePage – they basically say the state was handed back in disarrears. Isn’t he the guy who said environmentalists could go starve in the dark?
Look, demomom, it’s clear that the independent who served one term over 30 years ago has a lot to do with our crappy Governor today, and the sooner you accept that the better off we will all be.
Seriously, I don’t get it either.
Before I was at Yorktown, I yanked the rope on Nathan Hale. Bennie Arnold helped me.
And to this day you continue to consider the government of Canada to be the proper authority for all law in Maine.
Mais, oui.
One Old Dame Fortune is calling Roger Ek out on his unsubstantiated claim that Republicans are out to sabotage the good governor’s budget. There’s more defending of Ek as a good patriot than there is evidence of such a Republican conspiracy.
This LePage guy seems to have caused some friction among the right wing of the right wing fringe.
I don’t think it’s Paul LePage who has caused some friction among them. I think it’s him PLUS all the other tea party types who play fast and loose with the truth.
What sort of person has the audacity to call for “open and honest” anything while out of the other side of his mouth letting go a cascade of untruths and damnable lies?
Oh. I know what kind of person. A LePagelet.
But Naran says AMG is where people go for facts! I don’t have the link right now, but she says this as she thanks Dan for some contribution. I snorted milk all over my keyboard.
Naran may say that but then again, she’s senile. She and Roger Ek could hide their own Easter eggs!
She also has extreme control issues. And the longer she runs AMG, the more apparent they become.
